No. 04

See your cash thirteen weeks ahead.

Float connects your bank and invoicing, builds a rolling 13-week forecast, flags the crunch before it lands, and drafts the moves that fix it.

The problem

You already have a forecast. It's a spreadsheet, it's midnight, and it's wrong by Thursday.

Every owner runs the same ritual: export the bank statement, guess which invoices actually land, nudge the payroll cell until the red goes away. It takes two hours, it's stale the moment a client pays late, and it never once drafted the email that would have fixed the gap.

Float exists so you never open that tab again.

How it works

§ 02

From bank feed to a plan you can approve before coffee.

  1. Connect

Link your bank through Plaid and your books through QuickBooks, Xero or Stripe. Read-only credentials, five minutes, no CSV exports ever again.

  2. Forecast

Float builds a rolling 13-week cash position from real settlement behavior, the clients who pay on day 12 and the ones who pay on day 41, not from invoice due dates.

  3. Flag

The moment a week dips toward the line, it's flagged in red ink weeks before it happens, while there's still time to do something about it.

  4. Act

Float drafts the fix: the invoice-chasing email, the payment-date shuffle, a line-of-credit comparison if you need a bridge. You read, edit, approve.

Re
Invoice #1041 · $6,400 · 14 days past due

Hi Maya, hope the spring launch went well. Quick one from our side: invoice #1041 ($6,400, sent April 28) looks like it slipped past its due date. Could you let me know when it's scheduled? Happy to resend the PDF or set up a part-payment if that's easier this month.

Thanks as always,
Sam

The rhythm

weeks ahead · every Monday · 7:00 AM

One briefing, every Monday morning.

Four lines and the curve. Read it with the first coffee, approve what makes sense, and walk into the week knowing exactly where the cash goes thin. Four minutes. That's the whole ritual.
